Artist: Ghetto Flow
Name of CD: Los Reales Edicion Oculta
Release Date: July, 2009
The first album of the Reggaeton crew Ghetto Flow is a self written, mixed, mastered and produced musical masterpiece which marks a historical moment in the European Reggaeton Dance scene. Born in the Dominican Republic and residing in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) the 4 members of Ghetto Flow has had quite a roller coaster ride with its 16 track album. La Baby Soprano, MB, Conejo, and Johan take Reggaeton music to the next level.
Ghetto Flow’s clever mixes of different power-based sounds, catchy lyrics, and danceable flows are ideal for Reggaeton, House and Latin parties. Dance crews will love this album for the many tracks making it possible to choreograph and mix fast and electrifying Reggaeton, Streetdance, Breakdance, Merengue, and Modern Salsa Dance routines. The music is also ideal to just pump up the volume in your car and listen when cruising. Ghetto Flow is already a well renowned European band, having shared the stage with superstars such as Marc Anthony, Tego Calderon, Wisin y Yandell, Aventura, and Don Omar. Don Omar even named Ghetto Flow ‘the ambassadors of Reggaeton in Europe’. The Reggaeton hype started around 2005 in the Netherlands. But Ghetto Flow has been on top of the game since 2001, years before ‘The Big Leap’ of Reggaeton music and dance to the European continent. They have appeared in several venues and on different podiums in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. In Midem, a place for new and upcoming talent present themselves to people of the music industry (also a major music scholarship), Ghetto Flow was the only representative from Holland in the company of the Dominican Reggaeton artist Papi Sanchez.
The style of the music on the album ‘ Los Reales Edicion Oculta’ can be summarized as a mix of Reggaeton, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Merengue, Bachata, with a hint of Salsa. There are some unique and diverse tracks which made my eclectic ears go crazy with joy.’ Jaana’ featuring Berry and Gato Gabriel is a mix of Reggaeton with Indian Music. ‘Una Gota de Lluvia’ featuring the Puerto Rican Merengue and Salsa Singer Romy Rick can be described as a ‘ Reggaeton Romantica’. ‘Nah’ is a real ‘Gangster Rap’ Style Reggaeton. Two of my favorite tracks are ‘ Un Hombre Enamorao’ and ‘ Cuando Suena Mi Voz’, fast paced ‘Merengueton’s (a combination of Merengue Ripiao and Reggaeton). ‘ Subelo A To’ is a Reggaeton having very clear Antillean influences: no wonder I just keep repeating the song. The House Remix of the song ‘Dame De Eso’ is sensational and will make any Latin House party rock.
To Conclude: You HAVE to buy Ghetto Flow's 'Los Reales Edicion Oculta' album if you’re a Reggaeton Lover.
