Album: ¡Salsa! by Putumayo
Release date: 2009
Let me start with the overall presence of this CD. Putumayo has put in a lot of effort in not only picking the songs for this compilation CD but also give you a quick background overview of the artist. The information in the booklet is not only very useful but also consumer friendly having all the information in 3 languages (English, Spanish and French).
An eclectic collection
There are several great songs on this cd like Eddie Palmieri, Poncho Sanchez and of course the classic Muňeca performed in a version this time by Son Boricua. All the songs on this CD are great for social dancing and will be guaranteed hits on the dancefloor.
My favourite track I must say is the Cha Cha Cha from Orquesta Aragon featuring Cheo Feliciano called Son al Son. The brilliance in how this song is played with the especially the flute-part is a must to listen to by anyone!
This cd offers a great variety of Salsa Music mixed with some great Cha Cha Cha’s. and is definitely worth adding to your collection.
