The international Latin Pop phenomenon from Colombian origin Shakira released her newest album “Sale El Sol” (English: “The Sun Shines”) with songs on it having enormous hit potential such as “Loca” and with other versions of world class hit “Waka Waka”.
The Merencumbia (= Merengue mixed with Cumbia) song “Loca” (English: “Crazy” and featuring rapper El Cata) is already a monster hit at most of the Latino dance venues and radios around the globe. One of my favorite songs on the the album ”Sale El Sol” is ”Gordita” (English: ”Sweet Fat Girl”) because of its sensual lyrics. The sometimes controversial Reggaeton rap group "Residente Calle 13" did a wonderful job singing ”Gordita” together with Shakira. The Merengue Hip Hop sound of ”Addicted To You” (sung in English & Spanish) and ”Rabiosa” (English: ”Girl In Anger”) are perfect for Salsa dance teachers to use for their Merengue classes, and the songs have to be placed side by side with ”Waka Waka”. And speaking of Waka Waka, I really enjoyed the Rock version (K-Mix) both in Spanish and in English.
Shakira's sweet and distinctive voice resonates like a 'wild angel' in her (Spanish) Rock songs ”Sale El Sol”, ”Mariposas” (English: ”Butterflies”), ”Devocion” (English: ”Devotion”) and ”Tu Boca” (English:”Your Mouth”).
Shakira's ”Sale El Sol” has something for everyone. Shakira keeps making music that gives me goose bumps. In an ever changing and very hectic life, it is very comforting to know that there is one artist who always makes and sings incredible music which makes you happy and joyful: Shakira.
