Alade is a Cuban Styling Dance Element. The Leader makes a Loop around his head and touches the neck, holds the Hand Connection, and immediately brings the Hand Connection back over the head to the starting position.
This can be done slowly (Loop (1st count), over the head (2nd count) and back to the starting position (3rd count)) or fast (Loop (1st count), over the head (1 ½ count) and back to the starting position (2nd count)) (On1).
Example Dance Pattern: 1. R-R Exhibela, R-R F Alade (1, 3) Exhibela, R-R Loop DQN, Guapea. 2. R-R: L-L Exhibela, R-R F Alade (1, 2) L-L L Alade (3, 4) Exhibela Sombrero, DQN, Guapea.
