Cross Body Double Left Turn is a Partnering Dance Technique. It means a Cross Body Lead with a Double Left Turn for the Followers. The correct description should be: a Cross Body Lead with 4 Syncopated Walking Turns and a Forward Walking Turn (Lazy Turn) (l) for the Follower. It is also called a Cross Body Double Inside Turn. This is the same as a CBT (see "Cross Body Turn"), but with some differences.
When the Leader starts to lead the Follower into her first Walking Turn he gives the Follower more turning power by going faster around her head making her do a Syncopated Forward Walking Turn (l) (Follower 3rd Dance Position) (5 1/2 count ), a Syncopated Backwards Walking Turn (l) (Follower 3rd Dance Position) (6th count), another Syncopated Forward Walking Turn (l) (Follower 3rd Dance Position) (6 1/2 ), and another Forward Syncopated Walking Turn (Follower 3rd Dance Position) (7th count).
The last turn of the Follower is exactly the same as the last turn of a regular CBT: a Forward Walking Turn (Lazy Turn) breaking back with her right foot on the 1st count of the next Basic (Follower 4th Dance Position)(1) (On1). The Leader feels as if he's leading the Follower into making 2 turns. In reality he leads her to make 5 Walking Turns! The Follower should use more strength to break her speed near the end so she can execute the Lazy Turn with ease.
The CB2LT is usually followed by a 360 (see "360") to help the Follower break her speed, but still continue to dance in a regular flow. The CB2LT is the "mirror image" of the CB3RT (see "Cross Body Triple Right Turn").
