Cumbia Basic

Cumbia Basic is a Freestyle and Partnering Dance Technique. Diagonal Back Breaks. The dancer Breaks (see "Breaks") 2 times in a diagonal angle to the back, on 1 and 5 (On1). This dance step is commonly used by Cubans and South Americans, and other Latinos while dancing "Salsa Estilo Callejero" (i.e. Salsa Street Style). The dance step resembles one of the basic dance steps in the Colombian "Cumbia" dance (see "Cumbia"). The name for the dance step has been chosen to honor the Colombians and their large influence in the history of Salsa dancing and Salsa music.
