Half Enchufe: Cuban Dance & Rueda de Casino Dance Technique.
For the Leaders: the Leader starts dancing 1/4 Enchufe (see "Quarter Enchufe") with a Left to Right "Hook" Hand Hold. But after his Forward Walking Turn (r) he keeps turning on his right foot and does a Backwards Walking Turn (4th count). The Leader then does a Back Break with his right foot in 3rd Dance Position (5th count). He steps with his left foot to the front (5th Dance Position) and pulls on the hand of the Follower. He brings his right arm under her left arm and steps with his left foot forward towards the Follower ending in a Closed Dance Position, or he grabs the left hand of the Follower with his right hand ending in an Open Dance Position (3rd Dance Position) (7th count).
For the Follower: the Followers starts executing a 1/4 Enchufe (see "Quarter Enchufe") but this time the Leader brings his leading arm up and over the head of the Follower making her do a Forward Walking Turn (r) (3rd count). The Follower makes a 135 degrees Backwards Walking Turn, and she also does a Back Break with her right foot (5th Dance Position") (5th count).
The Leader pulls the Follower and leads her to step with her right foot in his direction (5th Dance Position) (6th count), and they finish in Closed Dance Position or in Open Dance Position (7th count). The Leader and the Follower trade dance spaces and they end 135 degrees from the point they started dancing.
After the Half Enchufe the Leader can also choose to make a Mambo Basic (see "Mambo Basic") or a Cross Body Lead (see "Cross Body Lead") and continue dancing Western Style Salsa (see "Western Style Salsa"). This means that the Half Enchufe can be used to combine Western Style Salsa with Cuban Style Casino Dancing . The Leader can also choose to finish the second half of the Basic with a Hook Turn (see "Hook Turn" "Evelyn" and "Alade").
