Hands Up

Hands Up: Partnering Dance Technique & Styling Dance Element. The Follower brings (or the Leader puts) her arms stylishly stretched above the head, parallel to the body. Basic Guideline for Western Salsa dancing: when the Leader brings (or throws) the hands of the Follower up and he touches her body, her hands stay up until he finishes or asks for her hands. This guideline is very useful when starting to dance a Cross Body Hipcheck (see "CBhipcheck") lead by the hips.

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
