Left Turn (Mambo Left Turn – LT)

Left Turn: Partnering and Freestyle Dance Technique. Counter clockwise, Left or Inside Turn. The Left Turn is common in most Latin and Salsa Dances. Starts always with the left foot Breaking forward (see "Breaks") (4th Dance Position) (1 & 5th count). The next step is with the right foot on the spot (4th Dance Position) (2 & 6th count). Next is a Backwards Walking Turn (l) (3rd Dance Position) (3 & 7th count), followed by a Walking Turn (l) (Lazy Turn) ending with a Break to the back with the right foot (4th Dance Position) (5 & 1st cout). The Leader finishes his Mambo Basic (see "Mambo Basic") while the Follower starts a new one.

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
