Non Leadable Dance Moves

Non Leadable Dance Moves: These are Salsa Partnering Dance Techniques the Followers are not able to follow (and the Leaders are not able to lead) unless they have had the (proper) instruction of how to follow (and lead) these dance moves first. These Non Leadable Dance moves are mostly invented by (popular) Salsa Dance Choreographers and (International) Salsa Dance Teachers.

They teach these Dance Moves mainly at Salsa Dance workshops during (International) Salsa Dance Congresses, on (Instructional) Salsa Dance DVD's, and on the Internet. Because of the growing international demand for "more flashy, special and new" Dance Moves there is also a growth in Non Leadable Dance Moves in all Salsa Dance Styles worldwide. For example: most of the Styling Dance Elements being lead and followed in Western Style Salsa Dancing are "non leadable" for Latino Followers. Rule of Thumb: the "flashier" the Dance Move looks, It's likely to be a Non Leadable Dance Move. Opposite: Leadable moves are the ones natural to be lead and followed. Typical leadable moves are found in Cuban Salsa.

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
