P'al Medio / Para el Medio

P'al Medio / Para el Medio: Cuban Rueda de Casino Dance Technique & Call. It means "To the Centre". The dance couples start in a Closed Dance Position on the circle with the Right to Left Hand Hold facing the centre of the circle. The couples start by side-rocking to the left (the Leader with his weight on his left foot (3rd count) & tapping with his right foot (5th count), and the Follower with her weight on her right foot (3rd count) tapping with her left foot (5th count)) together with the Left to Right Hand Connection pointing down towards the centre of the circle (5).

The couple then side-rocks to the right (the Leader with his weight on his right foot (7th) & tapping with his left foot (1st), and the Follower with her weight on her left foot (7th) & tapping with her right foot (1st)) together with the Left to Right Hand Connection pointing up and away from the centre of the circle (1st). The dance couples repeat this process until the Caller makes another Rueda Call. Most of the times a Rueda will start with P'al Medio.
