P'arriba / Por Arriba

P'arriba / Por Arriba: Cuban Rueda de Casino Dance Technique. The word is an abbreviation of 2 words: "Por" and "arriba". It means "Move up". During the Rueda the Leader moves clockwise with a half Son Basic (instead of the normal counter clockwise on the first 3 counts) from one dance partner to the next one in front of him . P"arriba is mostly used as a direct follow up after the execution of a Rueda Call.

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
