R&B

R&B stands for Rhythm & Blues, and is a style of music developed by African Americans that combines blues and jazz, characterized by a strong backcount and repeated variations on syncopated instrumental phrases. Today R&B defines the modern version of the soul and funk influenced African-American pop music that originated with the demise of disco in 1980.
