Reversed Cross Body Left Turn

Reversed Cross Body Left Turn: Partnering Dance Technique.

The Leader does the footwork of a reversed Cross Body Lead (see "Reversed Cross Body Lead"), but leads the Follower to make a reversed Cross Body Left Turn using the same leading techniques for leading a normal Cross Body Right Turn (see "Cross Body Right Turn"). He leads her away from him with the Right to Left Hand Hold (see "Hand Holds") making her do the same dance steps as she does when dancing a Cross Body Right Turn with only one difference: the Follower makes a Forward Walking Turn (l) (Lazy Turn) after the 7th Beat (see "Forward Walking Turn").

She ends her turn by breaking backwards with her right foot on the 1st Beat of the second Basic (see "Basic") (On1). The reversed Cross Body Left Turn is the "mirror image" of a Cross Body Right Turn! The rev-CBLT feels like a Cross Body Right Turn because the Leader leads the Follower away from himself and brings his leading hand towards himself at the very end of the Dance Technique.

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
