Son basic

Son basic is a common term for this is "basic on the spot". The "son" comes from "son de salon" and "son montuno" or "son cubano". The basic is marked on the spot whilst moving. Real Son is danced "contra tiempo" (see "contra tiempo" and "syncopes").
