Tap: 1. Partnering Dance; Dance couple makes a tap with their free toes on the 4th and on the 8th count of the music (On1).

Examples: a. Tapping while dancing Cuban Salsa or Casino Dancing. The tap on the 8th count makes it possible for the Leader to turn the Follower around starting on the 1st count. Cumbia C, DQN; b. Tapping while dancing Bachata Dance. The same basic dance principle as point a.

2. Dancer makes a tap on a count of his or her own choice during Footwork, Freestyle Dance, Shines, or (Salsa) Solo.

3. Making Taps while stretching the feet to the sides are called Flairs.
