Tunnel

Tunnel: Partnering Dance Technique. A Tunnel for the Followers can be lead when the Leader stands in front and to the right of the Follower with the Right to Right above the Left to Left Hand Hold (see "Hand Holds"). He starts to turn clockwise on the spot while pulling and bringing his left elbow up (and keeping the Right to Right Hand Hold down) creating a "hole" in between his arms.

The Follower walks forward and ducks into that hole while turning clockwise (1st count). The Leader continues to turn clockwise and leads the Follower, making her walk backwards in a clockwise fashion during the second half of the Basic (5th count). He brings his Right to Right Hand Hold up while standing in a Hammerlock Dance Position for Leaders (see"‘Hammerlock for Leaders": Left to Left Hand Hold on his lower back).

All this time the Follower stays ducked! At the end of the Tunnel (when she’s safe) (7th count) the Follower straightens her back and finishes with a Snap (see "Snap") with or without a Head Whip (see "Head Whip") (1st count) (On1). The Leader lets his left hand loose to lead the Follower into a CBX (see "Cross Body X") with the Right to Right Hand Hold.

The Tunnel is originally a non-leadable move (see "Non Leadable Dance Moves"). So don’t try this on the dance floor with Followers who have not have the proper dance instruction first!

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
