Western Style Salsa Dancing

This is the way of dancing Salsa which has been mainly developed in the western, non-latin, countries of the world, and with the U.S.A. being the main driving force behind this way of dancing Salsa. The main characteristic of this way of dancing are:

1. the dancers learn to dance this way mainly at Salsa Dance Schools, at dance workshops being taught during (international) Salsa Dance Congresses, or by following Salsa dance instruction on different modern media (Instructional Salsa Dance DVD's & the Internet).

2. The dancers dance in a Dance Line (or Dance Slot) using the Cross Body Lead (see "Cross Body Lead" (OSDF) as a "bridge" (or "patch") to combine and execute Salsa Dance Techniques, Combinations, Freestyle, etc.

3. Non Leadable Dance Moves (see "Non Leadable Dance Moves") are made leadable and common by (popular) International Salsa Dance Teachers teaching and spreading their own fabricated dance moves around the world, and by adding these to a s"Semi Dance Standard".

Dancer Of The Week

Sanne Keijzer

Sanne Keijzer
Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
