Ignacio Piñeiro Martínez
One of the most important composers of Cuban son music. In total he wrote about 327 songs, mostly son.
In 1927 he founded the Septeto Nacional (the original name of the music band was Sexteto Nacional de Ignacio Piñeiro, by adding a trumpet it became Septeto Nacional).
Irakere
Irakere is a Grammy Award winning Cuban ensemble founded by the pianist Chucho Valdés in 1973. They are known for their unique sound by using a wide range of percussion instruments.
Ismael Miranda
Ismael Miranda is a composer and a singer of salsa music from Aguada, Puerto Rico. When Miranda grew up in New York City, on East 13th Street in Manhattan's East Village, he dreamed of becoming a musician.
