Name:  Antony Santos
Place of birth: Dominican Republic

Antony Santos is a Dominican Republican bachata musician. He was born in Villa Vasquez, Monte Cristi Province in Dominican Republic. Santos was the first rural bachatero to reach a mainstream audience in the early 1990s with his hit "Voy pa'lla". Soon after Blas Durán had adopted the electric guitar for the genre, Santos's adoption of soft romantic lyrics was more socially accepted than the bawdy cabaret style common to bachata. He soon became the genre's leading artist and helped move bachata over to the Caribbean Latino mainstream.

Trivia:
Antony Santos was paid an whooping US$90,000 for a single concert in Puerto Rico at the 10,000 seater Roberto Clemente Coliseum on May 12th 2007.He is currently the best paid bachatero in the Dominican Republic.

Santos is known for his role of redefining Bachata music to include romantic music.
