Frank Reyes, often going under the epithet “El Princípe de la Bachata”, The Prince of Bachata. Reyes grew up in a village with his family where they dealt with cultivation. He discovered his talent for music in his early years and formed an ensemble with his brothers.
At the age of 12 Frank moved to Santo Domingo where he applied for every kind of job he could get, to make his dream come true; to start up his own business. He met with Juan B. Genáo whose idea was to find talented young people and manage them with the ambition to turn them into famous artists. This became the starting point of a fruitful cooperation as Genáo lended his support to Reyes for him to release his first album (“Tu serás mi reina” 1991). A star was born as he made international fame with his bachata music.
In 2001, Reyes became the “Bachata Artist of the Year”.
