Ignacio Piñeiro Martínez (21 May 1888 – 12 March 1969)
One of the most important composers of Cuban son music. In total he wrote about 327 songs, mostly son. In 1927 he founded the Septeto Nacional (the original name of the music band was Sexteto Nacional de Ignacio Piñeiro, by adding a trumpet it became Septeto Nacional).
