La Dimensión Latina is a well representative Salsa music and Latin band from Venezuela. La Dimension Latina was founded in 1972 by six young musicians; timbales player Jose “Joseíto” Rodriguez, pianist Jesus Narvaez, the trombonists César Albóndiga” Monjes and José Antonio “Rojitas” Rojas, the congas player Elio Pacheco and the vocalist and bass player, who became one of the most popular and influential artists in the history of Latin music, Oscar D'León.

Singer Wladimir Lozano, joined the group two years after the group’s formation.The singers Argenis Carrullo, Rodrigo Mendoza and Andy Montañez were also notable members of Dimensión Latina.

Dimensión Latina has earned numerous nominations, awards and trophies over the years. Its fame and influence grew beyond the Venezuelan border with its debut in New York during the "Salsa International Festival” in the Madison Square Garden (1977), and became one of the most popular salsa bands in Central and South America as well as in the United States and Europe.


Trivia:
Among the national and international awards that Dimensión Latina has received over the years: six "MERIDIANO DE ORO", two "GUAICAIPURO DE ORO", three "MUSA DE ORIENTE", three "MARA DE ORO" one "MARA DE PLATINO" in Venezuela and a few others in Colombia and Panama.

It is estimated that Dimensión Latina has sold over 30 million albums, and counts more than 3000 live performances.
