Billboard Latin Music Award, “Premios lo Nuestro Award” winner and world famous Bachata group from the Dominican Republic. They sang together from 1998 until they broke up on 15 September 2008 allegedly according to Alexandra’s decision.

Monchy was already a member of an group in the Dominican Republic when  producer Martires De León came on board urging him to team up with a female singer. The decision fell on Alexandra, who put on hold her university studies when the opportunity arose.
After the release of their first album “Hoja en Blanco” they made a successful international tour.

In 2002 Monchy released their top-selling album Confesiones which brought along their first noted award (Tropical Album of the Year, Duo or Group from the Billboard Latin Music). They were also nominated for the Latin Grammy.

Sadly Monchy announced in Milan, Italy (September 2008) that the group would break up.
