Name: César de las Mercedes Pedroso Fernández

One of the key musicians of Cuban Pop Music and Timba. Fernández is a Cuban pianist and composer who started his professional career with the ensemble Orquesta Revé. He was also a founding member of Los Van Van. For many years Pupy wrote the songs for the group, becoming one of the most prolific latin composers of the last 30 years.
In 2001 Fernández started his solo career with the album “De La Timba a Pogolotti”. After the 9th year of Pupy y Los Que Son Son, César says that one of the most important things they’ve achieved is to “conquer a place in the world of the dancer” ~ “Conquistar un lugar en la preferencia de los bailadores”
They released the album “Tranquilo Que Yo Controlo” in 2008 and as recognition they received the “Fiesta Cubana Award” for the best album of the year in France.
