February 25 – 27: 10th Salsa Festival Switzerland 2011

ZURICH/SWITZERLAND – The world famous Salsa Festival Switzerland will celebrate its tenth anniversary between February 25 and 27, 2011. Last year, 3,000 Salsa dance fanatics danced on 5 dance floors and more than 1,000 participants followed the Salsa workshops.

The 10th Salsa Festival Switzerland 2011 will be even bigger and much better, with the great Salsa artist Victor Manuelle live in concert!

Participants will rejoice, Salsa dance and celebrate the 10th edition of the Salsa Festival Switzerland 2011. The Salsa workshops will be given by much sought after international Salsa and Latin instructors in the likes of Adolfo Indacochea & The Latin Soul Dancers from New York/Italy, Adrian y Anita from Barcelona, Spain, Albert Torres from Los Angeles, USA, Frank Santos and Alina Moksvina from the Dominican Republic/Russia, Iris de Brito from London, UK, Juan Matos y Amneris Martinez from New York/Italy, Super Mario from London, UK  and a great staff of local and international Salsa powerhouses. The will be teaching Mixed Styles of Salsa dancing, LA Style Salsa on1, New York Style Mambo on2, Cuban Salsa, Afro Cuban, Bachata, Zouk, Kizomba and more. They will teach more than 60 workshops spread over 6 floors at all dance levels.

2 Party Floors, Spectacular Stargate Salsa Showcases and Victor Manuelle in Concert!
The Salsa Festival Switzerland 2011 – one of the largest and most prestigious Salsa dance festivals in the world – will have 2 party floors with different themes such as “Salsa Clasica”,“Cuban Timba”, “Salsa Romantica” (especially for the Beginners) and a “Kizomba/Zouk” floor. The 10th anniversary celebrations weekend will start on Thursday, February 24th with a pre-party in collaboration with Salsa Mania at Club X-TRA, which is the largest weekly Salsa party in Switzerland. The Friday evening party will have none other than Victor Manuelle singing live in concert for all participants to dance and sing to his greatest hits. Saturday afternoon will be the day of the Stargate Shows, and the public will decide with their applause which of the Salsa couples and teams will perform that evening. The theme of Saturday's Gala Evening is “Dress to Impress”, so make sure you pack your best tuxedo or cocktail dress. Sunday evening features the Special Show Night titled “ONE SONG – INFINITE INSPIRATIONS” where the featured Salsa and Latin artists will present their own musical interpretation and choreography to the same song, which has been selected by DJ El Malo in advance.

Venue
The main venue of the Salsa Festival Switzerland 2011 will be the elegant Convention Center “Congress House Zurich” with its incomparably versatile space and its beautiful location.
