February 4 – 6: Calgary International Salsa Congress 2011

CALGARY/CANADA – The Calgary International Salsa Congress will be held in the weekend of February 4 to 6, 2011 in the enigmatic city of Calgary in Canada. Enjoy over 20 hours of Salsa dance workshops, outstanding Salsa performances and Albert Torres' World Latin Dance Cup Qualifying Competition!

Salsa dance fanatics from all over the world will join everyone who has much love for Salsa dancing at the Calgary International Salsa Congress 2011. International and local Salsa dance professionals in the likes of Griselle Ponce from New York / Puerto Rico (USA), Junior and Emily from Los Angeles (USA) and Yamulee from New York will give Salsa workshops in Mixed Styles of Salsa Dancing, LA Style Salsa on1, New York Style Mambo on2, Bachata and many more Salsa & Latin dance styles. These international Salsa stars will teach over 20 hours of Salsa workshops from Beginners to Professional dance levels. The workshops will be held on Saturday, February 5th, and Sunday from 11:00am to 4:00pm. The workshop schedule will be published soon on the official website.

Vibrant Salsa Showcases, Parties and the World Latin Dance Cup Qualifying Competition
The parties of the Calgary International Salsa Congress 2011 will start on Thursday evening, February 3rd, with a Pre-Congress Warm-up Party welcoming some of the international guests to Calgary. The “Opening Celebration” held at the Hyatt Regency Calgary hotel will feature the Amateur Group Competitions, the preliminary rounds of the Amateur Showdance Competition and the preliminary rounds of Albert Torres' World Latin Dance Cup Qualifying Competition. There will also be an International Showcases with spectacular performances by much sought after Salsa artists such as Billy and Katie from Miami (USA), Manuel Dos Santos from Toronto (Canada), the Salsa instructors mentioned above, and more. Saturday evening will start with a Gala Dinner followed by more Salsa  & Latin dance acts. The Closing Party held on Sunday, February 6th, will have the Finals of the Amateur Showdance Competition and also Finals of the World Latin Dance Cup Qualifying Competition. Enjoy the “Masters Jack & Jill” Competition, in which the international Salsa celebrities will compete in Freestyle Salsa and show-off!
