Eva Longoria helps Haiti using Twitter

Twitter has many functions, and this week Latina star Eva Longoria Parker (www.twitter.com/evalongoria) used it to earn more than reputation points. Disabled children and an earthquake ravaged countryside in Haiti were 2 reasons more than enough for Eva to lend her celebrity to raise awareness and funds.

Tons of Eva's celebrity friends took part by offering to follow fans on twitter, and arranging to meet winners in a once in a lifetime opportunity when they won an auction put on by ahomeinhaiti.org. Celebrities like Khloe Kardashian and Michelle Branch took part in an unprecendented effort that raised over a half million dollars. The funds will be used to assist the rebuilding of the Mirian Center, a home for children suffering from Autism and Cerebral Palsy in Haiti. Over $540,000 was brought in and based on this success, we believe you'll start to see more of these kinds of events in the future.

Thanks Eva for being a wonderful Latina and example to us all!

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
