How long have you been dancing for?
I started dancing 2 years ago.

What made you start with salsa?
I have always liked Salsa music very much . Of course, I also loved the movies Dirty Dancing and especially Dirty Dancing 2. But, I never danced before and I did not see myself as a dancer, so I was too afraid to start. Then, I went with a friend to Ecuador and there we took Salsa classes. In retrospect, those were not really 'proper' Salsa lessons and I do not know if it was 'real salsa dancing', but we had fun. During the holiday I saw a job opening on the Internet for a bartender at a Salsa school, I responded and when I came back from my holiday I started to work there and started following 'real' salsa classes.

Where do you take your lessons?
At the moment, I am searching a bit for Salsa classes. I have had classes at Pura Salsa from Raul & Shelina. I also have had show training from Cathleen and Joe. Recently, I also started training at Salsaddiction's Salsa Dance Academy (SDA) from.

What’s your best salsa tip for a night out in Etten-Leur/Breda?
The Wednesday nights at the Para in Breda are always nice and especially if you are coming just for a nice evening out with a bit of dancing and a bit of socializing. Furthermore, there are enough parties in the area where you can show your skills, in Etten-Leur, Roosendaal, Breda, Tilburg and Eindhoven.

What is your best salsa memory?
There are many good memories! Some are;
* That I made a lot of friends due to Salsa, here in the Netherlands and in Barcelona (Spain) where I lived for 8 months.
* When I finally dared to ask good dancers and teachers. For example, last year during one of the parties held at the Extremos' 10th year celebration weekend, I asked Adrian (of Adrian y Anita) to dance with me and I was not just nervous, but I was also enjoying the dance and the moment!
* That I could dance in the show of PuraBailar at the Christmas Palladium party.

What is your worst salsa experience?
One of the worst - but also a very educative experience - was when I started show training and then they said "now dance it in front of the group". I was so nervous and afraid, but it is a very good exercise! I think another bad experience is that you do not dare to dance, because when that is the case it takes the joy out of dancing and you cannot enjoy it to the fullest. And, the moment is already gone again before you now it!

What are the best salsa tips you have for women dancing salsa?

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!

Which song will get you up on the dance floor?

There are so many great songs and I am also very bad in the names of those songs. You can get me on the dance floor with almost any song!

Which salsa dancer/teacher/choreographer inspires you?

I get inspired by a lot of dancers, especially the dancers that are not afraid to dance and just give
and show everything they got, feel and are.

Where do you see salsa going in 5 years from now?
A very hard question, because I have still so many things to discover in the world of Salsa! I hope that Salsa develops itself more. However, this development has to go hand in hand with keeping the warmth and the intimate feeling of a "small" Salsa world. I think dancers will start developing themselves in more dance styles, which in turn will reflect on the dance floor and in their Salsa dancing.

What inspires you on the dance floor?
The music inspires me, the atmosphere around me, how I feel at that moment and - of
course also very important - my dance partner!!

Lastly, if there was one salsa wish you could make, what would that be?

I would still like to learn so much and get better and better and better and keep developing myself. In the future, I would like to be one of the good dancers that I now see on the dance floor. And, I would love to perform and take the people into "my" Salsa world.
