CUBANOSON is Scheduled to Perform at the World's Largest Salsa Congress, the 9th Annual NYC Salsa Congress. The New York International Salsa Congress is New York City's premier Latin dance & music event where the world comes to dance no matter the style and/or age, whether amateur or professional. Held for 3 days & 4 nights (this year September 2 - 6, 2009), every Labor Day weekend, which was rightfully declared the Official New York Salsa Congress Weekend by Mayor Bloomberg in 2005.
This year's event will include performances by CUBANOSON, New Swing Sextet, El Pulpo and will feature Eddie Palmieri. CUBANOSON brings us danceable traditional Cuban music at its very best. Enjoy their original and classic Son Montunos and Guajiras. For the past 4 years, CUBANOSON's music has been heard around the world making their mark amongst the best of New York City's Son/Salsa bands. In Cuba, there was a development and crystallization of rhythmical patterns that have excited people for years. Cuban music provides the fundamental from which I never move. Whatever has to be built must be built from there. "It's a cross-cultural effect that makes magnificent music" - Eddie Palmieri. No doubt CUBANOSON will set the pace and tone of this year's exciting NYC Salsa Congress bringing it back to its very roots.
