DC Samba Dance Meetup Group in Need of New Organizer

The Washington DC Meetup of Brazilian Samba and Capoeira Dance is in danger of becoming extinct! The organizer, Terry Chasteen has recently stepped down from his position without nominating a new organizer. Without an organizer the meetup will disappear. Current members or other individuals who would like to step up for the position have 10 days to do so before the meetup is deactivated from the Meetup.com website. The 226 member meetup group was put together to recognize and celebrate Brazilian culture.

The meetup transitioned into a group inclusive of many dances and cultures including waltz, tango, swing, disco, salsa and many other ballroom dances. The meetup organized classes every Sunday afternoon at Chevy Chase Ballroom and DanceSport Center in DC. So far, 395 events have been organized for the members of the meetup. Recently the group partnered with the Washington DC Michael Jackson Thriller Dance Meetup in order to offer members an opportunity to learn the legendary Thriller routine.

For more info: If you would like to get more information on becoming an organizer or co-organizer of the meetup, visit Washington DC Meetup of Brazilian Samba and Capoeira Dance for more information.

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
