Whether it’s a long walk in the neighborhood or an evening of spicy Salsa Dancing, what better a way to literally warm Mom’s heart? Get the whole family together for a leisurely stroll before or after brunch. Or do something unconventional and plan a game of badminton at the local park. If it’s cold or raining, go bowling for the afternoon.
If you’re celebrating at home, play festive music and when the dishes are done, turn up the volume and have a dance party. Make a cd of your mom’s favorite music from her younger days and ask her to teach you some of the moves she remembers.
If you have multiple generations of moms, say a Grandma or a Great Aunt, make a cd for them as well. Was mom a line-dancing queen or an Elvis fan? Could Grandma do the Jitterbug like it was nobody’s business? You’re sure to find out.
It’s a great way to get all generations off the couch and onto that makeshift dance floor. You can give the cd to your mom at the end of the party so she’ll always remember the day she taught her grandkids to do the Samba.
