International Salsa Teacher: Magna Gopal

My regular dance partner always sends me youtube videos of crazy latin remixes and great salsa dancers. One of her favourites has become one of mine - Magna Gopal. Her feel for music and how she interpretes this into movement is just a joy to watch. I’ve watched dancers that just get blown away by the way she improvises. See for yourself how she demonstrates her skill.

Watching these videos and many more I was very impressed with the way she moves and puts in her shines. How about that moonwalk-like movement she made in the first video? What about the tens plus spins (turns) back to back in the last video? With ease! Incredible. When you want to know exactly what she did, you’ll have to pause the videos, analyse it, then press play again. As many times as needed. No blame, that’s just how fast and skilled her moves are. Many already know that was Magna Gopal in these videos. Magna Gopal is one of the greatest salsa dancers you can find on youtube. And an inspiration to many.

She has travelled all over the world to teach and perform salsa dance. She has developed her own style, yet with perfect technique and body control. Whether you are a beginner or advanced dancer, watching how other people (like Magna) dance will help you improve.

If you have no more inspiration, or you’re stuck doing the same moves all the time, checking out DVD’s and videos will give you a new boost to your dancing.
