HOUSTON/USA – Houston Salsa Dancers Inc. invite you to the Houston Salsa Congress, held between January 13 and 16, 2011 in Houston (USA). The collaboration with Albert Torres, the world's greatest Salsa promoter, makes this year's edition very special with many renowned Salsa dance artists, the Texas Salsa Open and with The New Swing Sextet performing live!

The Salsa dance scene in Texas (USA) has flourished since Houston Salsa Dancers Inc. - a non profit organization - started the Houston Salsa Congress as the first Salsa dance event of its kind in the state of Texas, way back in the year 2000. Now, Salsa dancing in Texas will get a major boost when many world renowned Salsa artists in the likes of Victor & Burju from Boston (USA), Jorjet Alcocer and Alexis Omar from Houston and Melissa Rosado from New York (USA) join many more local and international Salsa stars to teach Mixed Styles of Salsa dancing. All workshops will be given at the luxurious Sheraton Houston Brookhollow Hotel.

The Texas Salsa Open 2011!

The “Texas Salsa Open” Salsa championships – which was first held in 2003 – will also be held during the weekend of the Houston Salsa Congress 2011. The winners will be send to compete at Albert Torres' 1st Annual World Latin Dance Cup, held in San Diego (USA). The couples and team finalists will be representing Texas in the Salsa on1 & Mambo on2 Divisions, and the first prize winner wins a direct pass to the semi finals of the World Latin Dance Cup.

Great Salsa Parties and The New Swing Sextet performing Live!
The first Salsa party will start on Thursday evening, January 13th at the Melody Club in Houston. The Friday, Saturday and Sunday parties will all be held at the Sheraton Houston Brookhollow Hotel. Expect spectacular Salsa & Latin dance performances from more than 50 local and guest Salsa show teams. Top Salsa DJ's such as the “Head DJ” DJ Gonzo, DJ Lobo, DJ Corwin and DJ Hector will be playing their best Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and other Latin music for all participants to dance and practice their newest Salsa dance moves and techniques. The immensely popular and internationally acclaimed Salsa orchestra The New Swing Sextet will perform live, bringing true Salsa passion to the congress.

In the year 2000, the Houston Salsa Congress began as the first of its kind in the State of Texas. In collaboration with Albert Torres, the Houston Salsa Congress has grown to become one of the largest in TEXAS!
