The British Dance competition show had its holiday edition, Christmas Strictly Come dancing, and stage star John Barrownman was named the winner on Saturday the 25th. He performed the quickstep with dancing partner Kristina Rihanoff, for this segment. For further star appeal, Dancing With the Stars' alums Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman sat on the judging panel.
Featured originally on British television, Strictly Come Dancing features celebrities with professional dance partners. They compete in Ballroom and Latin dances, and the show title gives viewers the sense of comfort that it is a continuation of the long-running series Come Dancing. The strictly term gives an allusion to the movie, Strictly Ballroom. So far, the shows format has been rehashed in 32 different countries around the world (See Dancing with the Stars). It has also been the inspiration for a modern-dance show called Strictly Dance Fever.
Mostly on Saturday evenings, the show has run on the ever-popular British network BBC One since May of 2004. On September 11th, 2010, the eigth series of the show has been made, and seven separate stand-alone Christmas specials have also been made, in consecutive years from 2004 to 2010. Philanthropy isn't something that escapes the show as they have also done 5 Charity specials since their inception.
