June 24 – 27: Latin Street Salsa Congreso

CHICAGO/USA -- The Latin Street Salsa Congreso – formerly known as the Chicago Salsa Festival – will explode for the fourth time from June 24 to 27, 2010, in the sun-bathed city of Chicago, U.S.A. The Congress has so many activities to offer, that it seems quite uncanny.

All participants are kindly invited to attend the events starting from Tuesday, June 22. Enjoy six days and nights days of ‘Salsa Dancing to the Max’.
The organizers of Latin Street Salsa Congreso arranged for 40+ of the best national and international Salsa & Mambo Dance Instructors to teach their best material at the Salsa Festival. World renowned names such as El Mulato & Su Swing Latino (Cali - Colombia), Swing Guys (Milan - Italy), and Roberto Arenas Jr. & Marie Josee Strazzero “Chilital” (Montreal – Canada) and many others will be giving workshops for three days in a row. They will instruct seventy workshops. The content of 52 of these dance workshops are various styles and mixes of Salsa dance, and the remaining 18 are Bachata Dance workshops. 

Latin Street Salsa Congreso has 4 days of Dance Showcases with over 40 Dance Acts from top performers in the likes of 2-time ESPN World Salsa Teams Champions winners El Mulato & Su Swing Latino (Cali - Colombia), 2nd Place winners of the ESPN World Salsa Championships Cabaret division Daisy & Nilson- (Cali - Colombia), and  Chilital Compagnie Du Danse Latine (Montreal - Canada).

There are three days of Salsa Vending Marketplaces, and five days of Live Music Performances from international Salsa bands like Piro Mantilla and Sammy Gonzalez Tribute to The Apollo Sound, and Angel Melendez & The 911 Mambo OrchestraWilliam Gomez Con Cache Orchestra. Famous Salsa DJ’s such as DJ Henry Knowles, DJ Gio Torres (Toronto) and DJ Bachata Freak (Los Angeles) will spin their very best Latin sounds for the thousands ofparticipants to go crazy on the dancefloors of the seven Chicago Landmark locations and Salsa nightclubs.

To top it all: the preliminary rounds for the World Salsa Championships will make the participants get a glimpse of America’s best Salsa Dancers competing against each other. All of this exiting Salsa dance experiences will happen when Chicago is Hot.
