LatinoFest - A celebration of Hispanic culture, music and art

25 May 2009 23:30, onlinesalsa, 681 views

In the heat of summer, a sizzling festival comes to town to help you get your salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, reggaeton, and duranguense on!  You can enjoy the dancers in colorful costumes from their native lands, watch bomba and plena performances, and listen to some of the hottest hispanic DJs out there today.

Decorate your house with latino arts and crafts, and sample the exciting cuisines from South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.  Families can try their luck on the rock climbing walls, get faces painted, and laugh at the clowns.   With two stages, music lovers are sure to have their need for musical entertainment satiated.

The best part about this is that the proceeds will benefit Education Based Latino Outreach’s (EBLO) ongoing educational, arts and cultural programs offered free to the children and families of the Hispanic community of Baltimore. Not a bad deal.  The cost is $5 for adults.  Children 12 and under can attend for free.  The hours are Saturday June 27, 2009 from 12 noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 12 noon to 9 p.m.

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
