STAMFORD/USA – Latin Moves Entertainment of the Connecticut Salsa Fest is continuing its tradition of bringing the very best Salsa Dance entertainment to Stamford (U.S.A.) during the Salsa action packed weekend of May 28 to May 30, 2010. The 6th edition promises to be the best one ever.
Dozens of known and new Dance Teams from all around the world and the U.S. will perform their Dance Showcases for all participants to enjoy. Luis Lopez and Luz Otero will host these showcases taking place on Friday night, Saturday afternoon & evening, and on Sunday evening. Approximately 130 Youth and Adult dance teams will be performing over the whole weekend.
Eight top DJ’s will play Salsa and Mambo hits from the Golden Era combined with the newest Salsa hits at the parties in two separate ballrooms. They will do their very best to inspire the dancers as they will be competing for the title of the Northeast’s number one Salsa Congress DJ, with a grand prize of 1000 US Dollars, during the Friday night party. DJ El Turco will be defending the championship title he won during last year’s Connecticut Salsa Fest. Good news for all dancers attending the showcases and the parties: there is no waiting time for the ballroom to be cleared because of the showcases and the party taking place in 2 separate ballrooms. The Battle of the DJ’s and Social Dancing will commence directly after the Showcase Dance acts starting at 09.00 p.m.
Hundreds of participants have enough space to dance comfortably: the Hilton Stamford, Connecticut Hotel & Executive Meeting Center hotel, which is the main event venue, has over 45,000 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet space, including a 10,000 square foot Grand Ballroom. Live Salsa bands Jesus Pagan y su Orquesta, Wayne Gorbea’s Salsa Picante, and Tributo a Hector Lavoe con la Orquesta Lavoe All Stars will play the hottest Salsa for all participants to practice all the Dance moves they have just learned during the Dance workshops.
Speaking of workshops: international Salsa and Mambo Dance instructors such as Thomas Guerrero of Santo Rico Dance Company (New York), Ismael Otero of Carribean Soul (New Jersey), and Norma Rivera of Unique Style Dance Studio (Puerto Rico) will instruct over 20 Salsa Dance workshops a day, which is 10 hours of daily workshops. The dance styles include Salsa On1, Mambo On2, Tango, Belly Dancing, Tricks & Lifts, Ladies Styling & Shines and much more for Beginners to Advance Dance levels.
