NOVI SAD/SERBIA – One of the greatest Salsa events in Serbia, The Cubanero Salsa Festival, will go all out between May 21 and 23, 2010. The organization of the festival, Allegro Dance Centre, has taken care of making the 3-day Congress entirely ‘Beginners Friendly’.

Allegro Dance Company and the city of Novi Sad will have the pleasure of accommodating and entertaining all participants with 3 days of Cuban Salsa Dance workshops, Fiestas Cubanas, and tantalizing shows during the Cubanero Salsa Festival. International Salsa Dance Instructors and local Dance Teachers from Serbia join forces to teach simultaneously in three locations. Juan Jose Ortiz, Yanek Rivera, and Radovan & Eva (Allegro) are a random pick out of the illustrious list of Salsa dance professionals instructing Salsa Cubana to all Salsa afficionados. Budding Salseros and Salseras will feel like royalty because of the numerous dance workshops in which absolute beginners can learn their first dance steps. Serbia’s Dance Congress is one of the most ‘Beginners Friendly’ Salsa Congresses in the world. The Intermediate and Advanced dancers will also experience their workshops as real treats.

Novi Sad is the second largest city of Serbia. The city is very multicultural; it has five Orthodox churches, a Catholic cathedral, and a Jewish synagogue right at its centre. The wide variety of cultures, religions, and nationalities makes Novi Sad, situated on the banks of the river Danube, a city with a growing cultural importance for Serbia. Novi Sad is also referred to as ‘Serbian Athens’.  Some of the main cultural events take place in the city, with its many universities, museums, galleries, libraries, etc. Novi Sad also has a large train hub connecting the international railroads from Athens, Istanbul, and Budapest.

The well known Salsa Band ‘Cubalcanica’ will perform live on the open city square during Saturday evening’s Gala Party. This will be a unique experience for all the participants dancing together with Serbia’s best Cuban Salsa dancers.

Dance because you like it and show that. Own the dance. A good student can copy the teacher but a great dancer learns and then makes it her own. So, create your own style and do your thing. And very important: dare to dance!
