Proyecto Uno's Christmas Gift on Sabado Gigante

Miami/USA, December 24 2010. The legendary Merengue Hip Hop band Proyecto Uno triumphs in its first string of appearances and concerts in Colombia. The band also gave a nice Christmas present to the whole Latin community living in the United States during Sabado Gigante's Christmas Special.

Proyecto Uno visited a number of Colombian cities including Pereira, Ibague, Armenia and the capital city of Bogota where the quartet sang more than one repertoire and also took advantage to make some stops to promote their latest single “El Party”. During this road trip, Proyecto Uno was quite struck and expressed solidarity with the Colombian people regarding the enormous devastation caused by the recent floods. Because of this incident - while the group was heading towards one of their presentations by land – they spent more than 12 hours stranded in the middle of a very long traffic jam in which there were even dead people. “It was an unforgettable experience. We were in a huge traffic congestion and  it seemed like a large public parking with thousands of people. Fortunately, we were escorted to our concert location in Pereira and we arrived just in time and had to introduce ourselves without having had a sound check,” said the band leader and member of the group Nelson Zapata.

The authors of “25 Horas”, “El Tiburon”, “El Grillero” and “Materialista” - some of the most popular songs of Proyecto Uno in Colombia -  also took the opportunity to make some stops by the media such as RCN and Caracol where they sung their latest hit “El Party”. The acceptance of the new members by the band's followers was unanimously positive, and on this occasion the fans did not stop chanting the hits and did everything they could to take pictures with the famous band formed by Nelson, Anthony, Joshua and Kid G.

As for the invitation extended by the telethon production in Colombia, the band said in a telephone interview, “For us, it was an honor to have been invited to the telethon, but we could not attend due to prior work commitments.” “The Colombian public must know that they can always count on us for any help. God willing, the bad weather will stop and soon families can be relieved of so much pain caused by these circumstances”, the group added.

Back in Miami, Proyecto Uno continued their expected promotional tour, where they had the opportunity to record the Christmas Special of Sabado Gigante, the first television program for the Hispanic family living in the United States. During the program, the band shared an interview with Don Francisco and then proceeded to sing “El Party” with lots of energy, dynamism and even jiggle whilst  entertaining the audience and showing of their diverse dance skills. As usual, this special is a Christmas present from Sabado Gigante (Univision). This particular program will be broadcast tonight, December 25, 2010 at 08:00pm in the Eastern part of the United States and at 7:00pm Central Time.

At present, and due to the demand of the group in Latin America, Proyecto Uno will break its promotional tour to do some presentations and to celebrate New Year's Eve in Bolivia, and then resume their promotion in the city of Miami in January 2011.
