Salsa Legend Willie Colon Live In Concert

The Newyorican “Salsa Master” Willie Colon – one of the musicians who helped to form and mold the Salsa music concept – is having his Farewell Tour in Europe. He will sing in club “The Sand” located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and taking place on Friday, October 8, 2010. “El Malote” or “El Malo Del Bronx”, which loosely translated in English means “The Bad Boy from The Bronx, New York City” is internationally renowned for his politically charged Salsa songs such as “Plastico”.

He is also known as one of the first musicians who started to challenge and break the musical rules of the Cuban establishment in the 70's by changing the clave rhythm in a song.

Puertorican born Willie Colon has had a life-long career of more than 45 years in which he sold over forty million albums worldwide. Willie has toured in Europe on several ocasions, but The Netherlands has never had the honor of seeing and hearing him sing his numerous hits live. The album “Siembra” - which is the best sold Salsa Album of all time – is also a production of Willie Colon in collaboration with another Salsa icon: Ruben Blades.

October 8 will be the first and the last day in which all the dutch Salsa dancers, Salsa & Latin music lovers, and all Latinos and Latino-minded people can enjoy Willie Colon, because he will retire after his last European tour.
