Shakira's New Album & Single 'Loca' Newest Hit 2010?

Latin superstar Shakira is getting ready to launch her next album on October 19, 2010. She starts a world tour entitled 'Tour of Earthy Delights' that will kick of later this month in Montreal, Canada. She is now facing charges for driving on the back of a motorcycle without a helmet and dancing in a fountain in Barcelona, Spain. Shakira named her effort “Sale el Sol”, which loosely translated means “The Sun Rises”, and the first single of the track has the title “Loca” meaning “Crazy”.

The Colombian born singer/songwriter has done some crazy stuff  in order to promote her single. The cover art for both the new album and the  single were released last week as she started to broadcast the new single on her website. An English version of the album is also in the making.

Shakira Going Crazy In Barcelona

Shakira spent time in Barcelona, Spain, to film the video clip for “Loca”. She got herself in some problems with the local authorities for performing some illegal acts whilst filming, with one of them being: dancing in a public fountain. It is not yet known how much the “Waka Waka” singer will have to pay the Barcelonean government. But, there is this precedent on Rock band U2 having been recently fined by the city for an amount of $22,000. 

The Latin popstar releases her new single “Loca” in the wake of her successful 2010 World Cup Championship anthem “Waka Waka, This Time For Africa” is still soaring high in the European Hot 100 Singles Billboard music chart and has been the number one song for the last six weeks. Dizzie Rascal – who collaborated with Shakira on this single -  said about his involvement, “[Shakira's a] nice girl to work with – it was easy. It was those ones of the cuff, 'Oh, do you want to work with Shakira? She's in town?' Yeah!”

The following clip is a reportage of a local TV channel on Shakira's video shoot. She is seen dancing on the beach (allowed), driving on the back of a Hells Angels motorcycle without a helmet (prohibited), dancing in a fountain (also prohibited) and being friendly with her fans (allowed).
