The first time many Salsa dancers made first contact with the Salsa dance scene was that one time when they followed an animation Salsa Dance workshop during their yearly activity with friends, going out with colleagues from work, or during a hen party. These workshops are highly entertaining and somewhat educational.
It is time to take a look at some of the factors you will need to take in account before you hire Salsa dance professionals for an animation Salsa dance workshop.
Things to consider when searching for a great Salsa Dance Animator
People who take regular Salsa dance classes like to share their love for Salsa with their families, friends and colleagues. Many of these Salsa dance aficionados will search for a Salsa entertainer from their own perspective instead of looking at the “wants and needs” of the persons they are organizing the workshop for. For example: a Salsa Spins workshop is not the right thing to do. Merengue dancing is a good appetizer. The following tips can help to make the search for “the right Salsa man or lady for the job” become much easier.
- Remember that not all of your colleagues, friends or family members are spontaneous or outgoing, especially when they have to touch each other in an informal setting.
- Do not expect a Salsa dance animator to bring everyone to – or keep everyone at – a high energy level all the time.
- When you choose to surprise your colleagues with a Salsa dance workshop, make sure you are also prepared to accept that some of them will not join the workshop.
- If you invite a Salsa couple and you want them to give a small demonstration, then let them do it at the end of the workshop. Letting them dance right before the workshop can fright or intimidate the participants – especially men.
- Do not allow the participants to drink too much alcohol before the workshop starts. It is quite understandable that some people need alcohol to calm their nerves or to get that extra boost in confidence, but it can backfire because of people misbehaving during the workshop.\
- Not all good dancers are great teachers, and not all great teachers are excellent animators. If your own Salsa teacher is very serious, then he or she is not fit for giving an animation Salsa dance workshop.
Good luck, and let us know how it went in the comment section right below.
In the following video clip, you see Alex Diaz giving a Salsa dance workshop at a congress. This is NOT an animation Salsa workshop.
