Perz Hilton, the once blogger now hollywood paparazzi king (queen?), says that Univision's hit show, Soy Tu Dueña, was #1 this last week. He claims it beat popular American dramas NCIS: L.A., No Ordinary Family and a Saturday Night Live special, hosting the eyeballs of over 5.8 million viewers in the demographic they are after, 18-49.
The Telenovela has been tops in the ratings once before in June of this year, and ranking #1 in this market isn't an easy task.
The president of Univision, Cesar Conde, told Perez that "Univision is committed to becoming the No. 1 television network in the United States among Adults 18-49, regardless of language, within the next five years.”
Latinos need to be on TV more, the major television networks in the USA just aren't doing the job. We are happy to see and hear that Univision has plans to make sure Latinos are represented!
